What to know in the Keys
Building permit allocations
New homes and commercial space in the Keys need an allocation under Monroe County's growth-management rules (ROGO and NROGO) or the equivalent city program. For construction and land, we review the allocation or its status.
Flood and wind insurance
Almost every property in the Keys needs flood and windstorm coverage. Ask your agent for quotes early; insurance is often the last item before closing.
Vacation rentals
Rental rules differ between Monroe County and the cities in the Keys. If your plan depends on rental income, we review the rental license and the rules that apply.
